    What free freight covers

Free freight is curbside, dock-to-dock delivery on orders of $3,000 or more, to every Canadian province except Newfoundland & Labrador and Nova Scotia. Yukon, Nunavut, the Northwest Territories and remote postal codes are quoted separately at the time of order.

Freight is booked, tracked and confirmed by us — not handed to a portal and forgotten. You get a carrier name, a PRO number and a delivery window from a person you can call back.

    What curbside, dock-to-dock means

The carrier brings your machine to the tailgate of the truck at the address you supply. If you have a loading dock, the trailer backs in and the machine comes off at dock height. If you don't, the machine comes off the back of the truck at the curb.

Getting the machine from the tailgate into your building is the receiver's responsibility. A 40 lb washer is 865 lb crated and a 60 lb machine is over 1,400 lb — that is a forklift, a pallet jack on a level surface, or a rigging crew. Plan for it before delivery day, or add the services below to your order.

    Orders under $3,000

Freight on orders under $3,000 is quoted at checkout based on destination. Smaller machines — in-suite combos and bench ironers in particular — carry freight that is a large share of the machine price, so we price it honestly rather than burying it. Ordering two or more units on one skid usually costs less in total freight than two separate shipments.

    Where we ship free

Free freight applies to standard commercial addresses on the highway network in the regions marked below. Remote, island and fly-in postal codes within an included province are quoted separately regardless of the province marking.

If your destination is quoted rather than included, nothing happens automatically — we send you the freight figure and you approve it before the order is processed. No surprise charges appear after the fact.

    Additional service fees

The services below sit outside free freight because carriers bill them as accessorial charges. Tell us what you need when you order and we'll price it into the invoice up front. Adding a service after the truck has been dispatched costs meaningfully more and can delay delivery by days.

Liftgate A hydraulic platform that lowers the machine from the trailer to ground level. Required at any address without a dock. Quoted at order
Inside delivery The machine is brought through the door and set inside the threshold. Does not include stairs, elevators, uncrating or placement in a mechanical room. Quoted at order
Residential delivery Any address the carrier classifies as residential, including home-based businesses and condo buildings. Quoted at order
Limited-access sites Schools, hospitals, long-term care homes, correctional facilities, military sites, construction sites, farms, places of worship and any location requiring an appointment or escort. Quoted at order
Appointment delivery A scheduled window rather than the carrier's standard call-ahead. Quoted at order
Redelivery & storage Charged by the carrier when nobody is available to receive at the agreed time. Billed to the receiver at cost. Billed at carrier cost

A note worth reading twice: a great many of our customers are the exact sites carriers class as limited-access — care homes, fire halls, schools and clinics. That classification is the carrier's, not ours, and it applies whether or not the site feels accessible to you. Ask us and we'll check the classification against your address before you order.

    Territories & remote areas

Yukon, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories are quoted individually on every order. So are remote and fly-in postal codes within an otherwise included province, coastal and island communities, and anywhere reached by seasonal road, barge or air.

We do ship to all of them. Freight to these destinations can run several times the cost of a comparable southern lane and is genuinely impossible to average into a machine price, which is why it is quoted rather than absorbed. Send us the destination postal code and we'll come back with a firm number — usually the same business day.

Where a machine is going somewhere hard to reach, it is often worth ordering spare wear parts on the same shipment. Getting a $60 part to Iqaluit costs far more than the part.

    Receiving your machine

Before you order, confirm three things:

    • The truck can reach you. Standard freight moves on a 53' trailer. Tight laneways, low overhangs, residential streets and rear alleys may require a smaller straight truck, which is an additional charge.
    • You can get the machine off the tailgate. Dock, forklift, or a liftgate added to the order. A pallet jack alone will not move a crated machine off a truck.
    • The crate fits your route in. Check door widths, corridor turns and ceiling height against the crated dimensions on the product page — not the machine dimensions. Our 79" ironer and the 63" flatwork ironer both ship on skids wider than a standard doorway.

Someone with authority to sign needs to be present. Carriers will not leave a crated machine unattended, and an unsuccessful delivery triggers redelivery and storage charges billed at cost.

    Inspect before you sign

This is the most important paragraph on the page The receiver is responsible for inspecting the shipment and noting any damage or shortage on the bill of lading before signing for it. Once you sign a clean bill of lading, you have told the carrier the machine arrived in good condition — and concealed-damage claims filed after a clean signature are routinely denied. Two minutes at the tailgate is what protects you.

    What to do at delivery

    • Count the pieces against the bill of lading before anything else.
    • Walk all four sides of the crate. Look for punctures, crushed corners, forklift damage to the skid, water staining and a tipped or broken shock indicator.
    • Open the crate if you can do it safely while the driver is there. You are entitled to.
    • Photograph anything that looks wrong — including the crate as it sits on the truck, before it is unloaded.
    • Write the specific damage on the bill of lading in your own hand before you sign. "Crate crushed left rear corner, control panel dented" is a claim. "Subject to inspection" is not and carriers do not honour it.
    • If the damage is severe, you may refuse the shipment outright. Note the reason on the bill of lading and call us before the truck leaves.

If you find damage after the driver has gone

Report concealed damage to us within five business days of delivery, with photographs and the bill of lading number. We will file the carrier claim on your behalf and pursue it. We cannot promise the outcome on a clean-signed bill of lading, but we will not leave you to fight the carrier alone.

    Shipping timing

Estimated shipping timing is provided when your order is placed, based on stock availability and the manufacturer’s production schedule. Shipping refers to when your order is dispatched, not when it arrives.

Shipping estimates may change. We will communicate updates as they become available.

We do not guarantee delivery dates. Carrier transit times, weather and other factors can affect arrival. If your project has a target date, call or text 226-506-3583 or email simpsoniiiricky@gmail.com before ordering to discuss estimated shipping timing.

    Returns & cancellations

Unopened, uninstalled machines can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return freight and a restocking fee apply, and the machine must be in its original crate and packaging.

Machines that have been connected, run or modified cannot be returned. Once water, gas or power has been to a machine it is a used machine, and we can't put it back into stock as new.

    Built-to-order and configured machines

Three-phase machines, barrier washers, ironers with folders and anything configured to a site survey are built or specified to your order. These are non-cancellable once production is released, and non-returnable. We'll tell you clearly at the order stage which category your machine falls into.

    Damaged or defective on arrival

A machine that arrives damaged or fails on commissioning is not a return — it is a warranty or freight claim, and it does not cost you a restocking fee. Call us and we'll open the file the same day.

    Cancellations

Orders can be cancelled without charge any time before the machine ships. Once freight is booked and the machine is on a truck, cancellation is treated as a return.

    Questions

If anything here is unclear for your site, ask before you order rather than after. A five-minute call about your receiving situation is the cheapest part of the whole transaction.

Not sure what your site needs?

Send us your postal code and tell us whether you have a dock. We'll confirm the freight, the classification and any accessorial charges before you place the order.
