The buck rises to the press plate on an air-bag actuator rather than a head swinging down onto it. Pressure distributes evenly across the whole plate, which is where the consistent full-coverage press comes from.
It also means the press keeps giving crisp creases as the padding wears. On a conventional press, finish quality drifts down between pad changes and the operator compensates by pressing longer — the air-bag design is what removes that drift.
The pressing chest is a steam-emitting legger style with a vacuum-compatible lower buck, so the same machine runs with or without vacuum. If you do not have a central vacuum system, that is the specification that decides whether this press is viable for you.
